As it stands, its a well designed multi-platform app, with a wealth of easy-to-use features.

But Acrobat Standard with the broadest appeal for document management.

Weve long-rated Acrobat as thebest PDF editor- but how does it compare to the competition in 2024?

Adobe Acrobat Standard during our review process

Adobe Acrobat Standard’s interface is clean and simple to use, and unlike ‘Reader’, most of its tools actually work

We put Adobes top tool to the test.

But it’s not like the the Reader and Pro versions.

There is no free trial, no free anything.

The tool sidebar (on the right) is populated with common functions, but you are free to totally customize it to suit your exact needs

To the right youll find a sidebar with another list or commonly used tools.

This helps you focus on the main tools you find yourself using all the time.

Take the Combine Files tool for instance.

Access a tool like ‘Combine’, and notice you can use others right from its interface, offering you great flexibility in the way you work

As its name implies, this is where you import multiple PDFs and merge them into one.

But what if youd like to remove some pages, or reorder others?

Do you have to choose another icon for that?

You can transform a PDF file into a wide number of other formats, from Microsoft, to HTML, to images and more besides

So you’ve got the option to reorder and delete pages from the Combine Files section.

All your editing options are available via the toolbar at the top.

The list is pretty extensive and whats best is how easy and intuitive the tools are to use.

Its obviously far better than Acrobat Reader which mostly felt to us like an advert for this software.
