AdobeCharacter Animator is a very simple-to-use 2D motion-capture animator.
Unsurprisingly, we found the tools in the free version very limited compared to Character Animator Pro.

The yearly contract can be cancelled within 14 days should you change your mind.
Again, all for free.
Its a shame though that once imported, your new puppets dont appear in the apps default list.

Once youve chosen a puppet, you get to animate it.
Your first step is to deliver your speech.
After that, youre off to the Editing section.
For new 2024: the ability to add custom backgrounds to your projects
Editing is a bit of a generous term.
These additional triggers can be found on the right hand side of the interface.
You add them by dragging them to the timeline.
The Pro features are more intricate, but require a subscription
They will appear as icons above your recording.
you could move them to wherever you yo, and also lengthen and shorten their duration.
Finally, when youre finished, its time to export your work.

However, there is at least one welcome addition: custom backgrounds.
Before this tool came along, you were restricted to the handful of cartoon backgrounds bundled with the app.
Unfortunately, thats all thats new for Starter users.
If you are serious about producing content with the software, youll need a Pro subscription.
But in a sense, this is like theAdobe Expressof animation software.
Cheerful, easy to use, and highly accessible.
