Theyre comfy too, despite being not exactly stylish, so there are some decent trade-offs at this price.
It’s when I folded them up for the first time that I started liking them.
This mean they fit in your bag or on your desk well but even better?
They are actually worth grabbing for more than just their portable design.
These might not be some of the absolute best over-ear headphones but you could do a lot worse.
Sound quality is the highlight here with a wide soundstage, strong bass, yet decently crisp mids too.
However, the Final Audio UX2000 do lack some neat features.
Said ANC does work well even if its technically hybrid rather than full.
At $120 / 100 (around AU$180), the Final Audio UX2000 are tempting.
There are concessions to make but theyre understandable ones at the price.
The headphones are currently available in the US and UK at popular third-party retailers likeAmazon.
Solely available in black, they arent a fashionistas dream like some of the competition in this price range.
These are priced only slightly more ($30 / 20) than the Final Audio UX2000.
Theres also support for AAC and SBC codecs while theres Finals so-called hybrid ANC.
It uses an stress-resistant driver to theoretically boost its ability to cancel out annoying background noise.
Its nearer to ANC than not but I was curious about it being hybrid rather than full ANC.
Turn the volume down a little and you might eke out a few more hours, though.
Similarly, turn off ANC and that time extends.
With mixed usage though, an average of 45 hours seems about right.
Its all fairly respectable if not exceptional.
Final has a companion app but it doesnt support the Final Audio UX2000 yet so hopefully thats coming soon.
The instant highlight is how wide the soundstage feels.
Alongside that, the UX2000 are pretty bassy and ideal for excitable and booming music.
I enjoyed the enthusiasm that came from my David Guetta playlist with the bass feeling suitably engaging.
Somehow, the UX2000 are also pretty crisp sounding when it comes to more subtle tracks like QueensUnder Pressure.
Is it as revelatory as something like theSony WH-1000XM5?
Temper your expectations and youll be happy with how these sound.
Its not perfect but it mostly blocks out what you better escape from.
If only there was an app for setting up a transparency mode or tweaking the EQ.
Touch controls are cool but physical buttons tend to work more accurately and thats the case with these.
Buttons are a simple matter of power, ANC, and volume so they take seconds to figure out.
Value score: 4 / 5
Should I buy the Final Audio UX2000?
You want cheap ANCHybrid ANC is a gimmicky term but it works fairly well here.
You want styleThe Final Audio UX2000 really arent much to look at.
They took over from my usualApple AirPods Pro 2and recent regular use of thePhilips Fidelio L4.
In the evenings, I relaxed by the Christmas tree checking out how my favorite playlists sounded through them.
A few podcasts were listened to via my iPhone 14 Pro.
