You shouldnt buy these if you like a balanced or neutral sound.
Did I say equalizer?
Yes I did, because thats one of the many cool features packed into the smartphone tie-in app.
For not-really-that-expensive earbuds, the feature range on display is really something.
Thats not amazing, though some rivals last an even shorter amount of time.
Its actually mildly handy once youve set it up, though its definitely not required.
Then theres OnePlus 3D Audio, which had a much more palpable effect.
It has naught but the essentials space for the earbuds, and a USB-C charging port.
Our smartest gadget-reviewing minds have a suggestion: dont do that.
That said, theyre nothing to turn your nose up at either for this money.
These earbuds will appeal to people who like their bass-heavy sound, because thats exactly what they provide.
Saying that, sometimes when it was palpable, peaking made me wish it was buried even further…
If youre paying full-price, the value proposition is different.
Should I buy the OnePlus Buds 3?
You want spatial audio on a budgetHow many low-cost earbuds have spatial audio features?
And how many of them work well?
Not many, at all, so the OnePlus Buds 3 are commendable.
These definitely aren’t for you!
You want earbuds for long journeysSome may say that 6.5 hours of noise cancellation music is enough.
Those people have not tried to commute to London when a football match is on.
Their price matches the OnePlus in some regions but is a touch higher in others.
I did not test it with a OnePlus phone.
I mostly tied with the strongest noise cancellation mode and the EQ set to the default setting.
